Another Wild Bond

A one-person show performed by Mexican actor Alejandro Calva and directed by Colombian creator Ella Becerra, presents an intimate story about fatherhood, memory, and emotional inheritance.

The plot follows a man facing two farewells: his father is dying and his daughter has stopped speaking to him. While caring for and recording his father's vital signs, he remembers his daughter's early years, when he cared for and protected her with the conviction that he would be a different father than his own.

Amid memories, letters, family objects, humor, guilt, and tenderness, three generations intertwine, leading the protagonist to wonder if, in his attempt to break with family history, he ended up repeating some of its patterns. The play thus offers a reflection on the boundaries between love, care, control, and imposition.
